Doolittle Raider Dick Cole Flies on B-25

Maverick Flying Car

The Maverick flying car drives 80 mph over rugged terrain, floats on water and with the flip of a switch, flies. “This is a flying car, not a drivable airplane,” said Steve Saint, designer of the Maverick. In July 2010, he drove the road-legal vehicle from Florida to Oshkosh, Wisconsin and attracted attention at every stop. Steve designed the vehicle for frontier areas where traveling by road isn’t always an option.

Boy Sells Eggs for Bomber Flight

Seth Holloway, 12, sold 116 dozen eggs to buy a flight on EAA’s WWII-era B-17 bomber. During the flight he climbed through the entire aircraft, sat on the flight deck, and afterward met Eugene Cernan, the last man on the moon.
